November NewsNovember 6, 2016
It's hard to believe we are in the 11th month of the year. Next month is Christmas. Ugghh! At least we have some cooler temps, lower humidity, and some early morning daylight now.
November is a busy month for the Track Club. It's hard to believe since we didn't have a race on the first weekend of the month, nor do we have one on the last weekend of the month. We still pack four races in regardless. Nov 11th is "Home of the Brave 5K" at Uptown Station. Nov 12th is the Veterans 5K out in Destin. Nov 19th is the Timberlake 5K and 1/2 Marathon at Ranger Camp Road. This is a Grand Prix event, so you can volunteer to get your points. Then there is the Recycle Run on Nov 24th (yes, Thanksgiving morning). Race flyers and event particulars are all on our website (www.nwftc.com) under the "Race Calendar" tab directly on the home page.
With all the races coming up, training is even more important now for peak performance. Daylight Savings Time is gone and the sun sets earlier in the afternoons now. If you are running late in the day, use your reflective gear and lights. Drivers may be squinting a little more with the early sunrise while you are out on your morning runs. Please pay a little more attention to traffic and above all, be safe.
