March Track & Sand

March 6, 2017

We were very lucky to have a mild winter. Spring is near and that means more daylight, warmer temperatures, and plenty of races. Lucky Leprechaun is March 11. The 5K & 10K races start at 8:00 a.m. at The Landing. Both courses are "Certified". Registration is still open either in-person at Run With It, mail-in, or online at active.com. It is always a fun time, so get your green on and come out and run or walk. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated.
Some of you may have noticed that there isn't a bus to Azalea Trail Run this year (Mar 25). It's the first time since I can remember that we haven't had one. Participation has dwindled over the years and I couldn't find anyone to organize the trip this year. With no bus to Mobile, maybe you will stay local that day. The White-Wilson Community Foundation is sponsoring the Run for the Health of It (on March 25th) at 9:00. The start and finish will be on Santa Rosa Blvd by AJ's Oyster Shanty. There is a 5K Run/Walk and an 8K Run/Walk.
No fooling, there is the Pryor 5K on April 1st. It is the second year of the race benefiting the Pryor Middle School Cross Country program. It starts and finishes at County Line Pizza, 605 James Lee Blvd in FWB. It is a pretty run through the neighborhoods along Cinco Bayou.
As always, check our race calendar for any updates. If you aren't up to racing every Saturday, but still would like to come out and be a part of the activities, we can always use volunteer help.
